Tournament Format / Amateur competition for Men and Women (18 years of age and older)

* Fighters may be required to fight an elimination bout and a final bout. Fighters will not be required to fight more than two bouts. There will be four fighters per grouping based on actual weigh-in. Bracketing will have; Fighter A fights Fighter B and Fighter C fights Fighter D. The winner of Fighter A vs Fighter B will meet the winner of Fighter C vs Fighter D. They will fight for the GOLD and SILVER Medals. Double BRONZE Medals will be awarded the losers of Fighter A vs Fighter B and Fighter C vs Fighter D.

- Flyweight (111.9 lbs. and below)

ROUNDS

USKBA ACTION SPORTS Amateur MMA bouts will consist of three 3-minute rounds with a one minute rest period in between rounds.

· Mouthguard
· Open finger gloves (minimum 7 oz.) (provided by promoter)
· Groin protection (male and female)
· Shin pads (provided by promoter)
· Instep pads (provided by promoter)
· Breast protection (female)

· Closed hand strikes to head and body
· Kicking techniques to body and legs

· Standing Submissions

LEGAL TECHNIQUES WHILE ON THE GROUND
· Closed hand strikes to body and legs 
· Submissions (chokes, armbars, straight leg locks ONLY)

ILLEGAL TECHNIQUES WHILE STANDING
· Elbows 
· Knees to head
- Kicks to head
· Kicks to knees
· Stomps on feet
· Groin strikes
· Hitting back of head
· Spine strikes
· Slamming
· Throws onto head or neck
· Throws against a joint
· Throwing out of competition area
· Neck cranks
· Holding ropes
· Pinching, biting, gouging, and any “dirty fighting”

ILLEGAL TECHNIQUES WHILE ON GROUND
· Any striking to head 
· Elbows

· Heel hooks
· Finger locks

· Choking with hand on throat
· Smothering (hand over mouth)

ADDITIONAL ITEMS

· If punch or kick causes a knockdown, the action will NOT continue. The standing fighter will not continue to attack. Instead, the referee will begin a 10 count. The standing fighter must go to a neutral corner during the count.
· No Vaseline on the body.
