USKBA LONG TIME OFFICIAL, PATRICK SULLIVAN, IS IN HOSPITAL

Everyone in the New York City area, who has been to a USKBA Sanctioned event, knows him. In fact, most people associated with ring sports in the New York City area know him. In addition to being a USKBA Official, he is a USA Amateur Boxing Official, a New York State Licensed Pro Boxing Referee and a Daily News Golden Gloves Champion. He is Patrick Sullivan. The USKBA has had the pleasure of working with Pat for the past eight years. In eight years, the USKBA has not heard one negative statement coming from Pat. He has always been there to help promote our sports. Even with his many years of expertise in reffing USKBA Sanctioned events, at the conclusion of every event, he would always inquire "How did I do?" In addition to his involvement with kickboxing and boxing, he is also a member of the Armed Services Reserves.

Two days ago, we received word that Pat, while at his Reserves training, had fallen and hit his head on the floor. He was in the hospital. A call to the hospital gathered the information that he was in 'Special Care' and that no other information could be given. Tonight we talked to his wife. It seems that Pat is in Intensive Care with a concussion, skull fracture and blood clots by his brain. The plan is that he will remain at the current hospital for 2 weeks and then be transferred to a rehabilitation center for extensive rehabilitation.

Pat was recently married. At the last event (July 22nd) he officiated, he was elated that his wife had just given birth. Pat is, and will always be, a valued member of the USKBA Family. We wish him a speedy recovery. Our thoughts, prayers and support are with the Sullivan Family. Anyone wishing to send Pat and his family an email of support, can send it to: pat_sullivan@uskba.com. We will personally deliver all emails to him. Cards and written letters can be mailed to: Pat Sullivan, c/o USKBA, PO Box 109, Emerson NJ 07630. We will personally deliver all cards and letters mailed to him.

DAN LUCAS TO DO BATTLE AGAINST ANTOINE McRAE ON "RUMBLE IN ROCHESTER 5"

USKBA ACTION SPORTS Promoter World Gym Rochester, in association with Nathaniel's Pub, will be holding "RUMBLE IN ROCHESTER 5" this Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the magnificent ESL Sports Centre in Rochester NY. USKBA Full Contact Kickboxing Heavyweight World Champion DAN "The Lizard" LUCAS will be fighting the Main Event title bout against ANTOINE "The Joker" McRAE. However, the bout will be sanctioned by the WKA-USA. McRae will be putting his recently won WKA United States Championship Title on the line. McRae won the title by beating kickboxing veteran "Fighting Irish" Mike Ryan. McRae is a young and powerful kickboxer capable on ending a fight in one punch. Lucas is certainly a fighter who can take a punch. Lucas, since winning the USKBA World Championship Title, has been plagued by injuries. In one instance, he was going to the airport to travel to a scheduled fight and he hit his head and opened a gash that required stitches. But now, Lucas says he feels the best he has felt in a long time. He does not take McRae lightly, but he does want to show all his fans in Rochester, that he is back...better than ever. This Main Event pits two powerful heavyweights against each other. Can this bout go the distance? We'll find out Saturday night.

The Feature Bout will have USKBA Amateur Full Contact Kickboxing Super Heavyweight Eastcoast Champion SEAN THOMPSON defending his title against Flex Gym's Head Instructor CHRIS HERZOG. The undercard will feature some of the best kickboxing talent from the Rochester area. All bouts are subject to change. For tickets and additional information, call 585-271-0541.

We can all learn a lesson from the brave and energetic Jonathan Di Bella. Keep an eye on him if he decides to follow in his father's footsteps.

PROMOTER POSTPONES "RETURN OF THE TITANS" EVENT IN NYC

From the promoter..."Dear friends... I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that one of the best cards ever in San Da will be held at the Mohegan Sun Casino on October 22nd, bringing our sport the attention it deserves. In related news, San Da continues to grow, occupying me with a number of personal projects as well. Finally, we are in discussion once again to host our annual tournament.

Thus, the bad news is that I have to postpone the next "Sport Fighting Titans" event. Since the event offers both beginners and champions a venue to showcase their skills, it deserves real attention and shouldn't be anything but the finest show it can be. With so much on my table right now, I can't honestly say that I can do that for September 17th, so I am postponing the show.

Rest assured, when the Mohegan Sun show is over and the date for the next tournament is set, we will return with the "Sport Fighting Titans" shows, bigger and BETTER!"

USKBA ACTION SPORTS Promoters Zack Tesler and Mario Ramos (World Fighting League) held another installment of their WFL series of MMA events on August 6, 2005 at Lido-The Nightclub in Revere, Massachusetts. This installment was entitled "UNLEASHED". If there was ever an appropriate name for an event, this was it. Not one bout went to a judge's decision. Referees Kevin MacDonald and Steve Rita did a great job watching over the action. In bouts that went past the first round, a review of Judges Boeri, Zychowicz and Holder's scorecards found all the judges in agreement as to the winners of the rounds.

Lido-The Nightclub was packed with enthusiastic fans waiting to see some of their favorite fighters in action.
